Competition can bring people together for a cause, and seperate people with the idea of loss.

For example:

We(ministers/Christians) have a common enemy, competitor; satan. Knowing this, we come together in different ways to relinquish his advancement in the world. This is a good thing. But when we begin to view each other as competing to do this, it seperates our forces and weakens our efectiveness.

Therefore, I believe that competition can be in christianity as long as we understand who and what our competition really is.:D
