I HERE CHRISTIAN RAPPERS ALL THE TIME SAY THEY

DON'T DO MUSIC FOR THE FAME, BUT THEY HAVE

CDS, MUSIC VIDEOS, FLYERS, POSTERS, WEBSITES,

BOOKING AGENTS, MANAGERS AND MORE. I THINK IT IS

FALSE HUMILITY. YES WE ARE SPREADING THE GOSPEL

FIRST AND FOREMOST, BUT I FEEL THEY CAN AT LEAST BE

HONEST ABOUT WANTING TO GET SOME SHINE! WHAT YOU

THINK??

I think lets be real about the fact. Stop trying to prove to people that you are holy. Christian Rappers spend their hard time, their sweat making sure their music be a blessing to others. People put alot of stipulations on the saints. But we human too. The bible says a workman is worthy of his hire. maybe the main goal is not fame but wishing to be the greatest at what u  do isnt nothing wrong with having that as a dream. we cant let religion and tradition keep us down. We have to go further. Yes god is getting the glory but throughout all of that the fame is GOING to come? why?" because we are striving to be the best! Vonwon when i post my videos on myspace no i dont be looking for fame but i hope to be in the areans of great people one day declaring the Word of The Lord! So Christian Rappers lets be real everybody want to get their SHINE!! May not be your reason for doing Christian Music but its your desire!

WoW... you bro's are FuNnY.

My thought is pretty deep and I will try to keep it short.  I don't think that it is a fact or matter of anyone try'n to prove they are holy-er than thou bro. Some Christian Artist really started out as having a humble upright heart not doing music for the fame but for the main purpose for souls to be saved, but like you said we are all human. Once you get a little peace of success and blow up in the public eye, it would be pretty hard for anyone not to want to get a peace of the shine! If we are not crusifying are flesh daily by reading Gods word, spending time in prayer, fasting ect..., we can be a hot mess. The spirit (new nature) and the flesh (old nature) constantly waring against eachother feel me. Galations 5:17. Just to throw this out there, I also think that Christians judge Christain Rap artists wrongfully as well and mistake there success as a self glorifying work instead of seeing it as being a blessing from God to them for there labor of being faithful to the ministry God has given them.....

On the flip side however, I think some Christian artist do come as Wolves in Sheep Clothing, acting like there rapp'n for God and to give him glory, but have there own agenda that is not glorifying God at all but rather in it for self glorification ect.. That is why the word of God says to Judge by the fruit. Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. End note..there are so many sides to the coin. Bottom line is, we always got to be check'n ourselves-self examination and make sure are motives are pure in what eva our ministry is- Christain Rapper or Preacher, Pastor, or Praise leader.....

Feel Me>>>?

Ok let me try this again I was on my sidekick the first time thank you Mr.Ya Ya Yawaa, Von Won.(LOL) Ok look here online world,we don't live in 1842. The word of God say to go and create deciples and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of these RAPPERS who use Christian as there stlye are in the bible too. They're under the term "False Prophets".God said to tell the world the good news gospel of the second coming, so fame is automatic if your're humble, living in God's will for your life and staying prayed up. If you are truly called then you don't have to try to control other christian rappers so they won't out shine you or make diss songs about them. We are here for one reason to lift up the name of Jesus Christ. If you have any other motives your playing a dangerous game that will get you to the pitt. Don't get me wrong I'm no saint, I too have thoughts of blowing up sometimes. When your out there and someone tells you "Man that really moved me, your songs are so tight". Of course the flesh starts to tell you it's all your talent and lyrical swagga. Right then is where you SIN.  This is a battle of witts. "Internal Warfare". You've got to check yourself and your infatuated fan.( With the kindness of the holy word) It's not me it's all for the glory of the Lord. Like I said we're sinful creatures thanks to Adam. That's why we have to die to the flesh daily especially the MINISTERS of christian rap. Remember there's a big difference between Rappers & Ministers. Just listen to the lyrics/(Fruit) these cats bare. Keep God first and he'll do the same.We love you all & God bless you..................DatBoyJesse.Net

I dont do it for the fame. I promote my music and cd hoping that people will get it and be blessed.  Also hoping that it plants a seed that will later sprout in those who are lost.  Buying cds, flyers, posters, gas, etc... gets very exspensive, so me selling my product helps me out alot.  If I could buy & press up tons of product and give it out free I would, but me myself & I'm pretty sure alot of other artist dont have the funds to do that. I count the cd profits and show money as a God giving blessing.  Think about it >Christian Rappers get nada compared to Hip Hoppers.

Dont get me wrong. Of course some do have the wrong motives, but eventually you can spot >them< out.

Sure, I would love to rep the KING on the BET.

yea some will say Im about ME.

Who are they to JUDGE me though...

How do they know that I'm not "A God's willing Vessel Being A Light To Someone Watching Tv That Night"

Basically what Im saying is' There is nothing wrong with "Walking In The Light" just maybe.....someone lost will see the GOD in U!!!

God Bless U All

see we dont do it for the fame nor the recognition/ but we do it for God/ vowing to live and die for the call/ we are pilgrims marching through this barren land/ evangelizing and teaching, enriching the souls of man/ even when alone and shattered we hold fast to our confessions of faith/ leaning not to our own understanding but learning to be content in whatever state/ stiring the gifts within us/ unconcerned with the traditionalists stance against us/ for weve come to minister to the lost/ give word to the unlearned by any means necessary!! -Byron Jones

i am most assured of Gods love and power when someone comes to me testifying of His saving grace through our ministry. when we can, through christian rap, spoken word poetry, even dance, reach out and touch those who are otherwise unimpressed or uninterested in God or His word.

whatever a mans reason for reping God, that one soul he reaches out to and helps to save at any given time is accepted in the Kingdom with rejoicing.

We are not a lost generation!!!

I aint gone lie I rap for fame, money because I love to rap. though some call Christian rap their ministry, music is not my most effective ministry. I rap about my life and glorify the life I live. it just so happens that my life is the life of a evangelist. though we all are ministers and we minister to people no matter what we do (student, accountant, play ball, flippin burgers,) my most effective ministry and callin is evangelism so I rap about what I actually do. if I didn't do then I would have anything to rap about. so if rap is your outreach ministry make sure your just not ministering behind the mic and not one on one with your audience. cuz if so then your ministry will suck! p.s. if music doesn't work for me, then I have 12 other spiritual gifts to exercise.

Well I feel that Gospel Rappers need to get paid bc their bills are still due just like everyone elses! They are spitting the truth and I jus be like Mannnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!! These boys so real when I first heard Tre say

" Its all about my life its all about my wife its all about my kids and I'm all about Christ" Then he wouldnt trade in his wife if u offered Halle Berry got dog!!!!!!! Thats real and he needs to get paid for that and more than 10 doallors bc he has more then 12 songs on the Farmer.

Then Von back doe with 18 songs on the cd i got at the fifth ward fun day favorite on that one is #17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STC with No Sex and Its Clean and I done came through Man these artists need millions!!!!!!!!!So I feel its good to say its to win souls bc thats #1 but it takes money to make money so I say get yo paper! If you give it to me for free I'm gonna take it. But if you charge me $19.99 Von I'm still gonna get it! So thats something to think about! If you give cds out for free your rent is still due hello! Dont preachers get paid if not I hope so! All preachers dont worry about cash but they bills dont stop and they not gonna quit. This is Mrs.Roberts keeping it 100 for the Kingdom fo sho!

I don't rap for fame, but I would like to be well known in the gospel industry one day because I know that fame opens the door of opportunities to reach a multitude of people. I never charge anyone when I minister in rap at their events, but it would be nice if they offered a love offering every now and then because I use my money for gas, studio time, cd duplication, background artist, etc. But if I never get one cent, I will continue to go and proclaim the good news of God because that's my passion as well as my gift.
